Lunar New Year 2025 holiday
According to the official announcement from the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday for officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in administrative and non-business agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will last for 9 consecutive days.
- Start of break: Saturday, January 25, 2025 (which is the 26th of the twelfth lunar month of the Year of the Dragon).
- End of break: Sunday, February 2, 2025 (which is the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Rat).
The holiday includes 5 public holidays and 4 weekend days.
Tet Holiday leave regulations for agencies and units
For agencies and units without a fixed weekend holiday schedule, holiday arrangements will be made according to each unit's specific plan. Staff will also be scheduled for on-call duty to ensure continuous work and effectively serve the needs of organizations and citizens during the holiday.
Tet holiday schedule for the private sector
Private sector employers will decide the Tet holiday schedule for employees based on one of the following options:
- Rest for 1 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 4 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.
- Take 2 days off at the end of the Giap Thin year and 3 days off at the beginning of the At Ty year.
- Take 3 days off at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 2 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.
If a weekly day off falls on a public holiday, the employee will be compensated with a day off on the following working day.
